Lenses From 35 mm Fitting Canon SLR
Absolutely! The only trouble I have had is with a 2X converter and a 400mm lens. It would not auto focus or stop down. I still got an OK photo of the moon. I migrated ALL my lenses successfully. I think film lenses work on digital. Digital do not work on film. Why not? Due to the .625 smaller area covered by the lens. They will not even mount.
The answer above is right, but if you have any troubles with canon and canon lenses just feel free to contact Canon Support Team. Visit canon’s official website and there you’ll be able to find a link to their customer support.
Understanding digital camera focal lengths

35 mm Camera
Most people are familiar with focal lengths of 35mm camera lenses. Digital camera manufacturers describe focal lengths in terms of the lens length on a 35mm camera that will produce a similar area of view.
Focal length on one 35mm camera is the same for all others because the size of the film each uses is the same. Digital cameras, however, have different focal lengths because the size of their image sensors vary from one camera to another.
Expressing focal lengths in terms of 35mm equivalent makes it easier for individuals to understand so they can compare digital camera lenses.
For example, here are focal lengths for a Nikon 5400 digital camera with a wide angle to short telephoto zoom, and the 35mm equivalent:
The Development of 35mm Photography
The development of the 35-mm or “candid” camera by Oskar Barnack of the Ernst Leitz company.
According to “The Development of 35mm Photography”
An early 35mm still camera was the Tourist Multiple from 1914 with standard 35mm film for 750 exposures that utilized the 18x24mm so-called half frame like 35mm motion picture cameras did. Several cameras that were adapted from motion picture photography for still use were also created around the same time. However, the prototype Ur-Leica (invented by Oskar Barnack while working for Ernst Leitz) from 1913 used the standard 24x36mm image size on standard, 35mm film. It was different and it lead to a revolution in camera design.
Oskar Barnack
As early as 1905, he had the idea of reducing the format of negatives and then enlarging the photographs after they had been exposed. As development manager at Leica, he was able to put his theory into practice. He took an instrument for taking exposure samples for cinema film and turned it into the world’s first 35 mm camera: the ‘Ur-Leica’.
T-Rings for 35mm SLR cameras
A T-Ring couples your 35mm camera body to a T-Adapter, Radial Guider or Tele-Extender. This accessory is required if you want to do any type of photography through a telescope or spotting scope. Each camera manufacturer has a different mount, which requires a specific T-Ring, so Celestron offers a full line of T-Rings.
To use a T-Ring, remove the diagonal and/or eyepiece from your telescope (some models require use of an eyepiece ? see your instruction manual). Then you need only remove your normal camera lens, attach the proper T-Ring for your camera, and mount the combination to the rear cell of your telescope or spotting scope with a Celestron T-Adapter.
If you own an older SLR camera with a thread mount, it will probably accept the Pentax Universal Thread Mount T-Ring. If you have a new camera with a bayonet mount not listed above (Ricoh, Cosina, etc.), it most likely accepts the Pentax K-Universal Bayonet Mount T-Ring. Check your camera?s instruction manual for more detailed information.
weww..kerenn..
